With music noise / nuisance complainants from local residents on the increase, and many a venue like The Point in Cardiff, suffering at the hands of a noise abatement notice. It seems the cocktail of legislation is making it so difficult for pubs and venues to put live music on safely, with licensing laws that are so unclear and subjective many may simply turn off the amps and pack away the drum kits.

We ask the question- where do we go from here?

The Music Supported Here campaign pioneered by the MU highlights the simple but important principle that musicians should not be ripped off in the digital world. Chaired by the MU’s Horace Trubridge, the panel of artists and their representatives will discuss the fact that there is no "one size fits all" for musicians when it comes to free versus paid-for music, and how Music Supported Here can help artists and fans work together in finding fair-for-all solutions.
In addition, the panellists will talk about the ground-breaking new coalition between the MU, FAC and MMF which aims to give artists and musicians a more powerful voice within the industry.
